Hog Roast Nets Over $21,000

Per Hog roast chairman, Janet Goodman, the event grossed $23,419 on April 20, 2024. Net Income was $21,505. Thanks goes to all the church volunteers, those that made or donated items for the auction, the families and friends who attended the event and especially Janet Goodman for leading the way! Money raised will fund Christian Education programs, Missions, and help pay for a new sign at the church.

Rev. Jeff Gill to serve as Guest Minister

Reverend Jeff Gill will fill the pulpit on May 5 and May 12 while Pastor Gladys Davis is traveling. Jeff is a writer, storyteller, and preacher in central Ohio; he leads tours as a volunteer with the Newark Earthworks Center at Ohio State Newark and for the Ohio History Connection, and is a World Heritage Ambassador.

Vacation Bible School set for June 24-28

VBS is schedule for June 24-28. Grades K-5 are welcome. Older youth may serve as counselors.

Homer Aumni Banquet set for May 18 at 7pm

New Bible Study starts April 18

The new Bible Study will be meeting on Thursdays at 11am starting April 18. We will meet at the church. The book is called, “The Walk” by Adam Hamilton. The book study will last 6 weeks. Mary Jo Layman will be leading the discussions.

Book Club to meet May 21 at 6:30pm

We changed the date to get as many people as we can to the meeting. Our meeting will be May 21 at 6:30pm at the church. We are reading “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood. It should be an interesting discussion. Looking ahead: On June 4, we will read “Stick a Geranium in Your Hat” by Barbara Johnson. At our July 2 meeting, we will discuss “The Women” by Kristin Hannah.

Community Drop-In Center Volunteers Needed

The Community Drop-In Center at Trinity Lutheran Church are in need of volunteers. The church is located at 592 West Main Street. The center offers a safe space for people to connect to resources. Connect Area-Wide Youth Gathering

Contact Pastor Gladys at 614-607-0682 if you are interested in attending. The Newark Area Ministerial Association is coming together for a multi-church, as well as multi-denominational, youth group. CONNECT will meet once a month to learn about each others’ understanding of God, talk about faithful life as a teenager today, and take part in the connectional nature as we learn from one another and explore the interwoven grace of the church in every place.
