“Souper Tuesday” Senior’s Lunch


** Update ** Our February 17th lunch has been cancelled so we can all celebrate the life of our dear friend and lifelong Highwater Member Larry Baughman. Please plan to join us in March. On the 3rd Tuesday of each month from Oct – Mar, WISH (Women in Service at Highwater) will offer a free soup-n-sandwich lunch at 11:30am. Come and bring a friend! Open to all seniors (age 55+) in our area. At our March 17 lunch, we will have a speaker, Jim McLaughlin of CES Federal Credit Union, on Cyber Threats and Identity Theft. No reservation needed.

In Case of Emergency (ICE) Packs distribution


On Sunday, September 21, between services – In Case of Emergency (ICE) packets will be distributed to help our Seniors keep vital emergency information readily available for their safety. The packet holds your emergency information like contact lists, medication lists, DNR orders and POA’s. There is a magnet so you can hang it on your refrigerator, where EMS are trained to look. There is also a window sticker to alert EMS. Senior Living Connections will be distributing the free packs – along with DONUTS!

Ohio State Buckeyes Watch Party


We will gather at the church to cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes. If you like, bring a snack to share. The September 2th game is Ohio State vs. Ohio University. Kickoff at 7:00pm. This event is sponsored by our Membership and Outreach Ministry.

“Rally Sunday” September 7, 2025


Our fall season starts September 7th with a return to two worship services at 8:30am and 10:30am. Sunday School for the kiddos resumes during the 10:30 worship. Connect Youth group resumes that evening with our first monthly event at 6:30pm at Newark Central Christian Church.

SCHOOL STARTS – Johnstown-Monroe, Wednesday, August 13; Northfork, Monday, August 18; Northridge, Tuesday, August 19. The Missions Ministry is collecting the following school supplies: Backpacks (lightly used is ok); Tissues; Glue sticks; 24-count Crayola crayons; Cleaning wipes; $2 pencils; Fiskars school scissors; Sandwich-size Ziploc bags; Gallon size Ziploc bags; Bottle of pump hand sanitizer; 4 oz bottle of school glue; Soft rubber erasers; Crayola markers; Pack of lined notebook paper; Colored pencils; Personal pencil sharpener; 2 pocket folders; 100 index card packs; Pack of 4 dry erase markers; Highlighter; 2” or 2 ½”  3 ring binder; Composition notebook;  prong pocket

Outing to see “The Road to Damascus” on Oct 1


Wednesday, October 1 – Buffet lunch at the Dutch Valley Restaurant, 1343 Old Rte. 39 NE, Sugarcreek, Ohio, and then see “The Road to Damascus” at the Ohio Star Theater, 1387 Old Rte. 39 NE, Sugarcreek, Ohio. The cost per person is $65.00. Make checks payable to WISH. Sign-up sheet in the binder or contact the church. We will meet at the church and carpool to Sugarcreek. Mystery Bus Trip Aug 13


Our annual bus day trip to a mystery location is scheduled for August 13th. We usually leave at 7:30am and return by 8:30pm. Save the date. More details, including cost, to follow.

Church Picnic July 20


Church picnic at Bill and Janet Goodman’s farm – 12881 Drury Rd., Johnstown. We will gather at 5:00pm and eat at 5:30pm – Table service and drinks will be provided. Bring side dishes, salads, and desserts. Bring lawn chairs and your fishing poles.
