Christmas Eve worship services


Highwater Church will have three worship services on December 24, the 4th Sunday of Advent. Please mark your calendars for 10:30am; 5:00pm, and 11:00pm. The Candle Light services will be in the evening.

Blue Christmas service December 20


There will be a Blue Christmas service at 7pm on December 20 at the 2nd Presbyterian Church (42 East Church Street, Newark). This ecumenical service is sponsored by the Newark Area Ministerial Assocition is a time for those struggling to find joy in the holiday season, a space to grieve losses, and a service of rest for the weary soul. All are welcome to seek peache and solace.

Timbuk Farms to host Church Potluck


Please join Highwater Church at Timbuk Farms at 6 pm on December 10 (Sunday). There will be picture taking stations, the greenhouse will be open for Christmas shopping and Mary Miller will be providing music.

Gift card collection for local family


Missions are conduction a gift card drive to support Liz an Zachariah Thompson. Their son was born premature and is hospitaized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Cards can be placed the offering tray or contact Abby Shipley.

Connect Area-Wide Youth Gathering


Contact Pastor Gladys at 614-607-0682 if you are interested in attending. The Newark Area Ministerial Association is coming together for a multi-church, as well as multi-denominational, youth group. CONNECT will meet once a month to learn about each others’ understanding of God, talk about faithful life as a teenager today, and take part in the connectional nature as we learn from one another and explore the interwoven grace of the church in every place. WISH Road Trip slated for September 26


Women in Service at Highwater will visit Dennison University at 10am on September 26. Our host will be Stephanie McLemore, Director of Religious and Spiritual Life and University Chaplin. Carpooling is recommended. Meet at the church no later than 9:30am on Tuesday. All church members are welcome to attend. We will eat lunch on campus at Huffman Hall. The cost is $9.00 for the day. The last day to sign up is Wednesday, September 20. Call Janet Goodman with questions (740-258-2846).

Angel Tree Tags are Missions’ Project


Salvation Army Angel Tree tags have been distributed. Gifts must be returned to the church by December 10. Salvation Army Toy Shop is lookng for volenteers December 4-15 to sort toys and prepare for distribution. If you would like to volunteer for this, please contact Abby Shipley. Toy distribution days are December 18-19. They need volunteers for those days as well. Call Abby for more details at 740-975-1209.
