Super Bowl Tailgate set for February 12


Join Highwater Church on Sunday, February 12, at 11:30am following the Worship Service for a friendlly Super Bowl Tailgate Food Competition. Bring your favorite Tailgate food to share and enter the competition. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite team shirt and gear (school, college, or pro).

Night to Shine will be held February 10


Newark’s Night to Shine will be held Friday, February 10 from 6-9pm. This event is sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and is an unforgettable prom experience centered on God’s love for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. Volunteers are needed to assist with decoration, clean up, and during the actual event. You will need to arrive by 4:15 pm. Volunteers must be 16 years or older. Church Council will meet February 15


The Highwater Congregational Church Council will meet at 7pm on WEDNESDAY, February 15th at the church.

Book Club will meet February 7


Book Club will meet on Tuesday. February 7, at 630pm in the Church Narthex. We are reading, “The Paris Seamstress”, by Natasha Lester. All are welcome.

Denison University offers class on world religions


Denison University will offer a class on Sunday, January 8th from 3-5pm on world religions. The university has invited the youth of our church to attend. The class will be taught by Denison’s chaplain, Rev. Debbie McLemore, alone with leaders of the Buddhist and Jewish traditions. The afternoon will end with pizza and fellowship. Missions Ministry to help out Newton Elementary School


Our Missions Ministry will be helping Newton Elementary with a toiletry drive. During January, we are collecting new items for this cause. Please leave your donations in the box in the Narthex at HIghwater Church. Items suggested include: deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, socks, underwear for K-5 boys and girls, shampoo/soap, hair bursh, feminine products (mostly pads), Band-Aids, toilet paper, tissues, and chapstick.

Christmas Day and New Years Day


There will be only one service on December 25 and January 1. Please join us in worship at 10:30am. Please note: Services will be cancelled if the is a Snow Emergency Level 2 or 3.
