Book Club scheduled for March 7


Book Club will meet on Tuesday. March 7, at 630pm in the Church Narthex. We are reading, “A Town with No Roads” by Joe Siple. All are welcome, despite, whether you get the book read.

March Madness is March 19


2023 MARCH MADNESS is here! https://forms.gle/nhfTR7wh31gaRa1e7 Sign up your team or yourself for this years 3 on 3 March Madness Tournament on MARCH 19, starting at 11:30am.. There is a 12 TEAM MAXIMUM so sign up soon! Teams must have at least 2 players under 16 years old, and no more than 5 players per team. If you do not have a team but still want to play, sign up individually and we will add you to a team. We will play 5 minutes halves, running clock, half court games. Free admission and free sign up. Lunch will be provided,

Highwater Church hosts Lenten studies


Pastor Gladys Davis will lead a Lenten study on Mondays at noon, February 27 through March 27, at Highwater Congregational Church. We will be reading Adam Hamilton’s book, “Prepare the Way for the Lord”.

Lenten Lunches scheduled in Utica


Lenten Lunches will be available in Utica on Wednesdays at 11:30am. You are invited to experience the Grace of God this Lenten season over simple lunches, reflective worship, and brief inspirational messages from our area pastors. The theme is “Words: Jesus Seven Sayings from the Cross”. The Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Avenue, will host the lunches February 22 – March 15. The United Methodist Church, 626 North Street, will host the lunches March 22 – April 5.

Easter Lily Sale


If you are interested in purchasing an Easter Lily for the sanctuary, please complete the form in the binder. The cost is $10.50 per lily. Orders must be completed by March 19.

Ash Wednesday service on February 22


An Ash Wednesday service will be held at HIghwater Congregational Church on Wednesday, February 22 at 7pm. In addition, ashes will also be distributed in the Newark Town Square at noon.

Missions Ministry Update


In February, the Missions Ministry will be collecting for the United Way emergency warming shelters. They need men’s and women’s new underwear, long johns, and insulated heavy duty gloves and mittens in sizes small to XXL. Please leave your donations in the Wood Box located in the entry way as you walk into the Narthex. The Missions MInistry collected toiletry items for Newton Schools in January. Abby Shipley, chairperson, reports that she dropped off several hundred items to the school which our church donated.

WISH to sponsor CPR Class on March 4


Women in Service at Highwater will host a CPR Class on March 4, 9am – Noon. The cost to participants will be $20. Please give your class fee to PHyllis Buxton. Make checks out to WISH. Class size is limited. Reservations need to be made by February 14. Please contact Kathy Preston for more information.

Youth Group will meet February 26


Youth, 6th grade and up, are invited to attend this event on February 26 from 5-6pm. This group meets the last Sunday of every month.

Highwater Yoga Class set for February 26


Highwater Church will host a Yoga Class on February 26, from 5-6pm in the Legg Center. Class fee is $10 per person, chair options available. Contact Abby Shipley if you have questions. Please sign-up by February 19 to ensure we have enough people.
